About me
Kirk Brothers and his wife, Cindy, have been married since 1988. They have two daughters, Katie and Hannah. Kirk has studied at David Lipscomb University, Freed-Hardeman University, and at Southern Seminary. He served in local ministry as a preacher and youth minister for 23 years before joining the faculty of Freed-Hardeman University as a Bible professor in 2010. In 2018, Dr. Brothers transition to Heritage Christian University in Florence, AL where he serves as President as well as Bible professor. Kirk, Cindy and Katie are members at the Killen church of Christ in Killen, AL where Kirk fills in periodically when the preacher is out of town. He also serves as a missionary to Latin America, specializing in starting Future Minister Training Camps throughout Central and South America for teenage and college age young men and teaching and serving as Academic Director for the Bible School of the Americas in Panama.
Kirk has authored or submitted chapters for several books, including Lead Like the Lord (2021). He conducts several workshops each year based on the leadership of Jesus. Kirk edited and served as one of the authors for a new college textbook titled, In Christ's Image: A Guide to Youth and Family Ministry (2024). He is currently writing a college level homiletics textbook as well as editing an elder training workbook, both of which should be available from Heritage Press in 2026. In the summer of 2026, Kirk plans to transition from being the president at Heritage Christian University to being a full-time professor teaching classes focused on ministry, preaching/teaching, leadership, and youth and family ministry. Kirk is grateful to have been able to attend PTP with his daughter Katie since 2008
